The Zishan Edible Mushroom Silicon Valley Industrial Park is being developed and constructed by Zishan Modern Agriculture Jiangsu Co., Ltd. with a total investment of RMB 500 million, on a site covering 323 mu. The project plans to complete, within two to three years, 96 fully automated mushroom‑cultivation rooms equipped with precise temperature and humidity control, 16 tunnel‑type fermentation rooms, and eight simple demonstration mushroom houses. It will also include one processing plant capable of handling 50 tons of edible mushrooms per day, as well as one strain‑production workshop. To date, the park has built 48 fully automated mushroom‑cultivation rooms, two fermentation rooms, eight primary‑fermentation tunnels, three secondary‑fermentation tunnels, one edible‑mushroom processing facility, one strain‑production workshop, along with ancillary facilities such as a chicken‑manure storage building, a soil‑covering workshop, a forage yard, and a boiler house. In the first phase, eight cultivation rooms have already entered trial operation, with mushroom production commencing in early August. Each square meter of cultivation bed can yield over 25 kilograms per harvest; once all cultivation rooms are fully operational, daily output of white button mushrooms will reach 10 tons, generating annual sales revenue exceeding RMB 50 million.
Zishan Modern Agriculture Jiangsu Co., Ltd. is leveraging the mushroom‑house platform at the Hongze County Demonstration Site for the Edible Mushroom Industry—designed to enrich villagers and strengthen villages—to promote the comprehensive development of the edible mushroom sector through industry‑driven entrepreneurship. The company recruits local villagers, providing on‑the‑job training while they work, to cultivate large‑scale mushroom growers. Once their skills are fully developed, these villagers can lease mushroom sheds at the demonstration site, where Zishan supplies standardized mushroom strains, substrate, and technical expertise, and purchases their products at a guaranteed minimum price. By scaling and replicating this model, more villagers in Sanhe and surrounding areas stand to benefit.
